Biking in Boston

It was the perfect formula — a newly configured route, dedicated riders and perfect weather. An estimated 3,000 riders turned out for the 3rd Annual Hub On Wheels citywide bike ride in Boston on September 23. Leading the seemingly endless wave of riders from City Hall Plaza, down Cambridge Street and onto a car-free Storrow Drive were some of Boston’s biggest names and, now, avid cyclists — Mayor Tom Menino, Senator John Kerry and Police Commissioner Ed Davis. The newly configured route took the leisurely ride through some of Boston’s most beautiful areas including Arnold Arboretum, Franklin Park and the South Boston waterfront.
Next year, who knows, maybe 5,000 riders!
