Spookiest, Kookiest, Ookiest Kostume Kontest – EVER!

Posted by menonthemoon on October 9, 2007

As part Boston Medical Center’s Halloween Town 2007     (Oct. 27 and 28), residents throughout the region can enter one of the biggest  costume kostume kontests this side of the Mississippi.  Well…that might be a stretch, but you get the idea!  The goal is to get folks from all over to get dressed up in their best Halloween costume, take a photo and send it to us for the chance to be named the “Spookiest, Kookiest, Ookiest”.  Who knows, there may be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.  Well…again, that might be a stretch, but the winners will get something exciting. You’ll just have to enter to find out what!

Biking in Boston

Posted by menonthemoon on September 27, 2007

It was the perfect formula — a newly configured route, dedicated riders and perfect weather. An estimated 3,000 riders turned out for the 3rd Annual Hub On Wheels citywide bike ride in Boston on September 23. Leading the seemingly endless wave of riders from City Hall Plaza, down Cambridge Street and onto a car-free Storrow Drive were some of Boston’s biggest names and, now, avid cyclists — Mayor Tom Menino, Senator John Kerry and Police Commissioner Ed Davis. The newly configured route took the leisurely ride through some of Boston’s most beautiful areas including Arnold Arboretum, Franklin Park and the South Boston waterfront.

Next year, who knows, maybe 5,000 riders!

It’s Got That Swing

Posted by menonthemoon on September 6, 2007

Thinking about what you’re going to do for the first weekend after the “unofficial” end of summer? Here’s an idea. The Pinehlls, in Plymouth, MA is hosting Jazz and Blues on the Green this Saturday and Sunday from 1pm-5pm. Catch some the area’s best Jazz and Blues acts including: Myanna, Rebecca Parris, Roomful of Blues, Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish, Coco Montoya and Catherine Russell. The best part is it’s FREE! Just bring your lawn chair or blanket and set up shop! And if you get hungry there’s a fun little cafe across the way where you can fill up!
